Our EcoRangers will see through the eyes of elves and fairies as they explore the enchanted realm of Shangri La Gardens. Each day will be filled with new and magical adventures. In their travels through the breathtaking forest, bayou, swamp and meadows, campers will make the acquaintance of some very interesting insects and animals. Campers will then take a close-up look at the plants and flowers that make up an animal’s neighborhood. In fact, campers will meet bugs that benefit us, as well as the bugs that, well, bug us. Our eager Elves and fervent Fairies will enjoy games and crafts; they will plant seeds and taste the sweet nectar of fresh-off-the-comb honey. Each day will be filled with enthusiastic and enriching lessons right in the middle of nature’s own magical domain.

Parents:  This is a story-based camp that will engage children’s imaginations while we expand their science literacy. We will learn the basics of ecology and how our actions can have a positive impact on our local environments. As in all of our camps, participants will spend 50-70% of the time outdoors doing hands-on science activities and approximately 30% of the time will be spent indoors working on complementary science and craft activities.
