Learn about the Victorian Era’s Language of Flowers
Have you ever heard that flowers have special meanings? Throughout history, people have placed symbolic messaging on plants and flowers. During the Victorian Era, people created secret messages for each other with flower arrangements. It was common practice to have a Language of Flowers manual handy to help decipher the message of the flowers you exchanged. Matron of The W.H. Stark House, Miriam Stark, had one of these manuals in her expansive book collection.
This workshop will consist of a short lesson on the Victorian Era’s use of the Language of Flowers. Feather & Arrow Flower Preservation will teach attendees the art of pressing and preserving flowers. Guests will leave the workshop with their own pressed flower creation.
Children under 17 must be accompanied by an adult, and all attendees must register.
The cost for this workshop is $35.
